10 Reasons to Vote

Hi Church Family & Friends,

I've never been much of a blogger, but I felt that I needed to be able to communicate throughout the week with those who wanted to do so.

Potentially the most pressing thing on our plate as citizens of our great nation is voting. We have many pressing local elections such as county commissioners, senators, and even the gubernatorial race. Additionally, the "hotly contested" presidential race is quickly drawing to a close.

I'd like you to consider 10 reasons to vote:
1. Voting is an opportunity to express conscience.
2. Voting is an opportunity for a single citizen to have a voice in principle, policy & practice.
3. Voting is a way to promote civilization.
4. Voting is the denial of centralized control.
5. Voting is a way to put the spotlight on the major moral issues of the day.
6. Voting is a way of identifying with the community in which we live, and seek its betterment.
7. Voting is a way to reinforce values of good governance.
8. Voting is an affirmation othat you believe God has ordained government, lest we be subject to utter chaos.
9. Voting is an opportunity to make a positive choice, instead of just complaining.
10. Voting is an affirmation of the equality of people in God's eyes.

As for the church, there is an atmosphere of growth in the air. I believe the word of the Lord is "double" for our church. We will see the Lord do the impossible this year. Keep believing, confessing, and proclaiming the breadth of vision - we will see it come to pass!

I pray you have a great week!
Going the distance,
Pastor Derrill
